**Freshmen Choir                                             Beginning Level Women’s Choir

 

Pre-requisite: None                                                                           (3 trimester course)

Grade Level: 9

 

Students in this choir will perform beginning to intermediate level high school choral literature.  This course is designed to prepare students for participation in the upper level choirs.   They will learn the fundamentals of performance, with an emphasis on proper vocal technique and music reading.  Freshmen Choir students will perform predominantly accompanied music.  Students will be required to perform at all high school choral concerts throughout the year.  Active participation in rehearsal and performances is required.

 **Freshmen Choir is a new course offering.  It is presently a young women's vocal ensemble.  As the APS Choral Program (AMS 5/6, AMS 7/8, AHS) continues to grow, it may eventually become a mixed ensemble featuring both female and male singers.
