Allan F. Brittain, is the 2010 recipient of the Stubnitz Award awarded by the United Way. He has twice served as General Chair for the United Way Drive and has served on numerous boards around the community, including the YMCA, Siena Heights University, Adrian College, Hidden Lake Gardens, Adrian Board of Education and Bank of Lenawee to mention a few. He has just completed 13 years as a trustee on the Board of the Adrian Schools Educational Foundation and served as Board President for the last 7 years. Allan is a graduate of Adrian High School with the Class of 1955.

The Stubnitz Award, named for Maurice Stubnitz, founder of the Stubnitz Spring Company of Adrian, is presented annually to a local individual whose spirit of volunteerism and leadership lifts up the mission of Lenawee United Way. Like Stubnitz, the award recipient is recognized for their humanitarian service to the Lenawee County community.
