Dear First Grade Parents and Guardians,
My name is Jordan Kelly and I am very enthused and excited to be teaching first grade. As your child’s teacher, I feel that I should tell you about myself.
I am in my fourth year of teaching first grade. During my college career, I fulfilled much of my observation credits at Lincoln Elementary. I also did my Associate Teaching here at Lincoln with Jill Roberts in the spring of 2011. I feel very comfortable and confident in teaching this grade level after being trained in early elementary education.
I was born and raised in Adrian. I attended Adrian Public Schools and graduated in 2006. I graduated from Adrian College in May 2011 with a degree in Elementary Education and Physical Education. I enjoy playing golf and have helped coach the Men and Women’s golf teams at Adrian College. Currently, I am an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Adrian College.
My objective as a teacher is to promote a learner-centered education in a safe and positive atmosphere. The students are encouraged to develop academically, artistically, physically, socially, and emotionally. I want to foster them with a life-long desire to learn.
Communication is a key component to a successful school year. It is my hope to communicate well and often with both my students and with their families. I will be sending home daily folders in which we can communicate between home and school on a daily basis. As a team, we will make this year extremely successful for your child and for you.
Thank you very much for your support!
Our classroom website will have bi-weekly updates throughout the school year. Be sure to follow our progress at www.theadrianmaples.com .
