Dear Parents,

The fourth graders are studying note rhythmic values and treble clef note names to prepare them for learning to play the recorder instrument this year. We are using a wonderful and successful recorder program called Recorder Karate. This program is a progressive way to learn the recorder instrument. Students are rewarded with a karate belt color each time they perform a song accurately. There are nine songs and nine karate belt colors. If a student successfully performs all nine songs, they receive a black belt award certificate for their achievement.

We are asking that each student purchase his/or her own personal recorder for $5.00. The recorder comes in a zipper carrying case. The recorder is made of a high quality, sturdy plastic with precision drilled finger holes. Please do not try to purchase your student a recorder elsewhere. There are different kinds and qualities that effect success and pitch.

Please send cash or have checks payable to Jacquese Miloser for I am the one who will be placing the order NOT the school.

If for some reason you are unable to purchase a recorder, your child will be loaned a school recorder for the year. If the barrowed recorder becomes lost, stolen, or damaged a replacement fee of $5.00 will be charged to you.

I would like to place the order no later than Friday, October 24, 2014. I am hoping to start the fourth graders on recorders after our Veteran's Day Program in November. Now is the time to get the order in and processed.  Thank you in advance for your prompt response!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Miloser
