Message from Mrs. Wetzel:

Our Hispanic heritage celebration on Friday was great time for all the big buddies and little buddies.  Some photos were online over the weekend on The Daily Telegram’s website, hopefully we will see them in the paper this week, too.  Wednesday is count day for all public schools in Michigan; please send in an excuse note if your child is absent on this day.  Many students are being signed out early from our classroom.  Please make every attempt to keep your child in school until the end of the day, our school day ends at 3:48.  When students miss school even 15 -20 minutes they miss important instruction, reminders and eventually they begin to fall behind their peers.  Please send in your child’s $3 to cover bussing for our trip to Red Lobster on the 14th.

What’s Hoppening in Room 101

This week we will take our mid module assessment for math.  Student will have a review of the concepts introduced thus far sent home on Tuesday, this will be a few questions longer than our normal math homework.  Please refer to the strategies on back that have been introduced to students to assist in solving addition equations.  I am very excited that on Friday the APS tech department staff delivered our ipads for use in our classroom.  We will be using ipads to supplement reading and math through out the day.  Attached is directions for one resource that we will incorprate and that students may also use at home called Raz-Kids or A-Z Kids.
