Encourage your student to:

1) Develop a plan for life after high school

2) Research college options:

    a) careercruising.com

    b) research colleges/universities via their websites

    c) schedule a campus visit (via their website)

    d) sign up to talk to college representatives in the AHS Counseling Office

3) Apply on-line to colleges. (We recommend 2-3 before Halloween. *There is usually a fee involved. Students on free/reduced lunch may qualify for an application fee waiver

4) Set up Parchment account to request transcripts. (There is a link on theadrianmaples.com or go directly to parchment.com)

5) Take/retake the SAT/ACT if necessary. You must register online at actstudent.org or collegeboard.org. See website for test dates.

    There will be a fee.

6) Sign up for remind.com, listen to announcements, check the bulletin boards in D-Hall for additional scholarship opportunities, college visits, and other important information.

7) Fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) (fafsa.gov).  You will first need to set up a FSA ID (fsaid.ed.gov). The FSA ID will verify you are you by your social security number (parent and student each need an FSA ID).  This will also allow you to sign the fafsa document online.
