Principal Corner...

Welcome back to another exciting school year at Alexander Elementary School. My name is Michael Perez and I will be the new principal at Alexander School.  This year marks my 28th year in education. I began my career as a middle school English teacher  and I have served the Adrian district as an elementary and middle school principal and as a middle and high school assistant principal.  I am a graduate of Adrian High School, class of 1984, and my wife and three children all graduated from Adrian High School.  I am a proud Maple and I am proud to call Adrian my home.

I am a hands on principal.  I will be visiting your child’s classroom daily.  I love to watch children learning to read and write, solve complex mathematical problems, discover the wonders of science and learn about the principles of democracy.  Every day students get to come to school surrounded by adults who foster the joy of learning.  Your child’s social and emotional growth is equally important to their academic growth.  At Alexander School we will continue to teach students about Alexander PRIDE: Productivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Excellence, soft skills equally important to their development as a young person.

Parents play an important role in their child’s schooling.  We encourage you to join the Alexander PTO and volunteer in your child’s classroom.  Why get involved in your child’s early learning?  According to research, parents are children’s first and foremost enduring educators. Parents and what they do have a powerful effect on children’s learning.  Parents and professionals working in partnership benefit children.

Relationships matter at Alexander School. Relationships are the foundation for learning and we are committed to building positive relationships with you and your child.  Whether you are a new family to Alexander School, or a returning family, the year ahead promises to be a rewarding experience for your child. You can reach me at Alexander School via email at mperez@adrian.k12.mi.us or call the main office at 517-263-9533 or stop into school and say hello.

I wish you happiness, goodness, abundance, blessings, and well-being this year.

Go Maples!

Mike Perez
