About Us

Adrian Public Schools offers the most comprehensive academic program in Lenawee County.  In addition to an incredible base academic program, APS offers a comprehensive fine arts program along with various International Baccalaureate programs.  Adrian High School is an authorized IB World School offering the Diploma Programme to high school juniors and seniors.  APS is in the process of gaining full authorization for the IB Middle Years and Primary Years Programmes.  We anticipate full authorization by Fall of 2014.

In addition to a K-12 world language curriculum and IB offerings, APS offers band, orchestra, and choir starting in 5th grade for all students.  A virtual school is offered through McKinley Education Center for students in grades 6-12 and Adrian High School is one of only four schools in the world to offer the IB Open World Schools Pilot. APS is at the forefront of learning throughout the globe.  In fact, APS has been studied by national research groups such as WestEd and recognized multiple times by the Michigan Department of Education for Academic success.

The APS use of technology has been nationally recognized by eSchoolNews and profiled by The Christensen Institute for Blended Learning.   All Adrian High School students receive an iPad for academic use and utilize a custom application called Virtual Locker that was developed to change education.
